Con ocasión del V. centenario del nacimiento de Andrés de Urdaneta, el Ayuntamiento de Ordizia está organizando una serie de eventos y actividades para dar a conocer el legado de este marino y cosmógrafo vasco.
En primer lugar, en Barrena Kultur Etxea de Ordizia se ha inaugurado una exposición sobre la figura de Andrés de Urdaneta.

Los horarios de la exposición son:
De lunes a viernes: 17:00 - 20:00 h.
Sábados: 18:00 - 20:00 h.
A partir del mes de febrero todos los sábados habrá visita guiada a la exposición a las 11:30 h.

Por otro lado, se ha organizado el Congreso Internacional V Centenario del Nacimiento de Andrés de Urdaneta.
Con el título "ANDRES DE URDANETA: UN HOMBRE MODERNO", el Congreso Internacional profundizará en torno a la figura de Andrés de Urdaneta. Será el colofón a las diversas actividades planteadas para conmemorar el V Centenario del Nacimiento de Urdaneta. El Congreso tendrá lugar en Ordizia en Noviembre de 2008 (en la semana del 24 al 30 de Noviembre).

Urdaneta jaio zeneko V. Mendeurrena dela eta, Ordiziako Udala kultur jarduera desberdinak antolatzen ari da euskal itsasgizona eta kosmografo honen legatua ezagutarazteko.
Lehenik eta behin, Ordiziako Barrena Kultur Etxean Andres Urdanetaren inguruan erakusketa zabaldu da.

Erakusketaren ordutegiak:
Astelehenetik ostiralera: 17:00-20:00h.
Larunbatetan: 10:00 - 13:00 / 18:00 - 20:00 h.
Otsailetik aurrera larunbatero bisita gidatuak izango dira 11:30etan.

Beste aldetik, Andres Urdaneta Jaio Zeneko 5. Ehun Urteurrena Ospatzeko Nazioarteko Kongresua antolatu da.
"ANDRES URDANETA: GIZON MODERNOA" tituluarekin, Andres Urdanetaren figuraren inguruan sakonduko da Nazioarteko Kongresuan.
Horixe izango da Urdaneta jaio zeneko V.Mendeurrena ospatzeko ekitaldi honen amaiera. 2008ko Azaroan egingo da kongresua Ordizian (Azaroaren 24tik 30erako astean).

On the occasion of the centenary V. of the birth of Andrés de Urdaneta the town hall of Ordizia is organizing a series of events and activities to announce the legacy of this Basque sailor and cosmographer.

On the other hand, there has organized the International Congress The V Centenary of the Birth of Andrés de Urdaneta.
With the title "ANDRES DE URDANETA: A MODERN MAN", The International congress will enable an in-depth study into the life of Andrés de Urdaneta to be undertaken. It will be the culmination of the various activities programmed to commemorate the V Centenary of the Birth of Urdaneta. The Congress will be held in Ordizia in November 2008 (during the week of the 24th to 30th November)
